Kaduna (Nigeria) – National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated drugs worth millions of Naira to victims of bomb blast receiving treatment at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Teaching Hospital Shika Zaria.
A suicide bomb blast in Zaria, early July has killed 25 people, injuring several others who queued for biometric registration, mostly primary school teachers.
Donating the Drugs, northwest Zonal Director of NEMA, Musa Ilallah said the drugs were to help in replenishing the hospital stock used while treating the victim
Responding, the Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Lawal Khalid commended the effort of NEMA, saying the agency has contributed immensely since day one in conveyance of victims to the hospital.
He explained that though the hospital staff were on Strike, volunteers have continued to render services to victims of the blast.
Out of the 37 casualties brought to the hospital, only eight are currently receiving treatment.
