The Nigeria Union of Journalists mourns the death of veteran Journalist and former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh which sad event took place in Abuja, Monday.
A statement by the National Secretary of the Union, Shuaibu Usman Leman said Prince Tony Momoh lived for journalism and journalists.
“”The NUJ cherishes his mentorship, guidance and support.
An authentic Prince and scion of the Ancient Auchi Kingdom, the Yerima of Auchi’s death at this difficult moment for the Media industry when his wise counsels are needed most is very painful.
“This sad event has yet again deprived Nigeria of one of its illustrious Journalists and Elder statesmen and we pray to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
“He was a rare gem, an impeccable character and role model who stood and fought for the profession of journalism and fatherland.
“Our consolation was that he fought a good fight, was a well disciplined and thorough professional.
“We pray to God Almighty to grant his immediate family and the media family the fortitude to bear this great loss,” the statement concludes
