….say is a contract in peril, hope into despair to the people of Adamawa and Taraba —
The Federal Government has been called upon to revoke the multi billion Naira  contract it awarded to a construction company for the rehabilitation of the 126km Numan Jalingo Road in Adamawa and Taraba State.
The Governor of Taraba State Arch. Darius Ishaku and  Senator Reprenting Adamawa South Binos Dauda Yaro made the call in a TV documentary on the failing road contract, screened at a media presentation to the Press in Yola Adamawa State.
Said both Governor Darius and Senator Binos, the contractor has not shown capacity to undertake the project given and that after being mobilized for 4 years, only 3 kilometers of the road has been partially rehabilitated.
Binos in the  the 26 minute Documentary  posited that: “The Numan Jalingo is the story of a spectacle so beautiful – a story of hope but sadly, a story of despair frustration and failed expectation.
An ace broadcaster and a veteran Journalist, Chief Timawus Mathias compiled,voiced the documentary and revealed Binos is saying the economy importance of the road from Numan, a junction city on a knoll adjacent to the Gongola River, pouring its waters into the Benue. A high way to and fro Adamawa South and beyond up to Onitsha is now a beauty ends in deaths trap,the Numan – Jalingo Road is now worse than a nightmare to commuters plying the road.
Plights of the people of Numan and Zing,Adamawa Southern Senatorial zone and Northern Senatorial zone of Taraba States over the deplorable nature of the Federal roads from Numan to Jalingo,Yola to Jalingo have attracted the attention of Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe.
Binos described the poor state of the roads, especially the Numan-Jalingo as a result of the incompetent of the contractors awarded the contract to rehabilitate the road that is crippling economy activities of the entire North East.
He vowed to collaborate with others Lawmakers representing Adamawa and Taraba at the National Assembly to have a join motion that will see to the total rehabilitation of the road.
Dauda while responding to questions from Journalists said the roads despite its huge economy importance has been neglected by the Federal government compare to others roads awarded contract recently have been completed.
