Osun State House of Assembly, Southwest Nigeria says it has suspended all Legislative activities for the next period of two weeks due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
Chairman House Committee on Media and Publicity, Kunle Akande said the short recess became necessary to enable members take a break from the rigour of long legislative activities and also assist their Constituents in Post- Covid 19 efforts geared at making their lives better.
He also stressed that the action was in strict compliance with World Health Organisation(WHO) and State Government protocols on the Containment of the House of Assembly Complex.
” This is a proactive measure targeted at curtailing the spread of the Pandemic within the State House of Assembly Complex.
Akande representing Olorunda State Constituency added that, members of the Assembly underscore the importance of the Legislature in a democratic setting, we” ve allowed essential administrative work and personnel to run upon disinfection of the premises.
“We advise the people of Osun State to consider using our recently deployed e- parliament platform in getting across to the Assembly” the statement concludes.
