Elders of the Kogi state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have described former Governor Ibrahim Idris as a “big problem to the party”.
In a statement signed by the leader of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, the elders berated the former Governor for turning the party to an extension of his family fued.
Dansofo stated that PDP is too sophisticated and cannot be turned into a fiefdom of an opportunistic family whose sole aim is to turn the party and the state into personal estates.
Reacting to the ongoing altercation between a founding member of the party, Capt. Joe Agada and the ex-governor, the party elders called on PDP leaders to take a tough stand on the reported anti-party allegations levelled against Alh. Ibrahim Idris.
The elders backed Capt Agada and reiterated their earlier demand for punitive measures against the former governor whom they accused of destroying the party and working secretly with the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Recall that the Kogi PDP Elders forum has earlier appealed to the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to expel Alhaji Ibrahim Idris from the party over anti party activities.
“We call on police and other relevant security agencies to protect Capt Joe Agada and his family from the evil plots of Ibrahim Idris Ibro. This is a man who has refused to forgive Engr Musa Wada even though he is married to his first daughter. “We call on our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to move without further delay and expel Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and his son, Abubakar from the party,” he said
