Immediate past Governor of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria, Abdulaziz Yari is reported to have suffered a great setback as his Mafara Ward Councillor representing Galadima Ward, Lukuman Lawal Danbuzu abandoned his political leader, Yari and decamped to PDP.
That’s just as Gov. Bello Mohammed continues to reassure decampees from APC to PDP of equal opportunities.
Lukuman led two other Councillors from Yari’s home local government area of Talata Mafara , Bello Ruwan Bado of Garbadu Ward and Tijjani Shittu Morai of Morai Ward, according to a statement by Yusuf Idris Gusau, Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communication .
Lukuman said having attained a convincing and sustainable peace through his fair and proactive leadership style better than what obtained in the APC led administration,the Matawalle led government has turned into a crowd puller that must be followed by every right thinking Zamfara Citizen which is why they came to the Governor to express their loyalty for the purpose of unity and progress of the State and its people.
Danbuzu added that they are convinced that the Governor Matawalle led leadership is serious in all it is doing to bring succour to the generality of Zamfara Citizens in which within its first six months has improved the wellbeing of the citizens especially through youth and women empowerment.
They promised to work with the PDP- led administration of Governor Matawalle which is why they felt they can not continue to be in APC which failed the citizens of the State in many ways while it was in power.
In his response,the State Governor, Dr. Bello Mohammed said his happiness cannot be quantified when he sees the way his administration is impacting positively in the lives of the people including politicians from the opposition parties.
The Governor who assured equal treatment to all decampees into his party described the defection of the Talata Mafara Councillors as an indication that even the opposition politicians are joining hands with his leadership unconditionally because the trend of selfish leadership is over and fast being replaced by the zeal and determination to take Zamfara State to greatness.
The meeting which took place at the Government House, Gusau was also attended by the state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha, former Deputy governor, Alhaji Muktar Ahmad Anka Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya, former Speaker Bature Umar Sambo, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, the Head of Service, Alhaji Kabir Balarabe, commissioners and special advisers among many others.
