Date:

The Kaduna State Government has commended the nation’s premier Brewer, Nigerian Breweries Plc, for leading the private sector in the state in Cooperate Social Responsibility in the area of education.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the block of 5 classrooms and 6 toilets built and refurbished by Nigeria’s top Brewer, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Shehu Muhammad Usman, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Phobe Yayi, stressed that Nigerian Breweries Plc is showcasing its love for Education through building and refurbishing of education facilities of Kaduna State Government.

According to her “education is not meant for Government alone, the private sector also has a key role to play and Nigerian Breweries Plc has taken that lead in Kaduna State”

“The Government of Kaduna State under the leadership of Mallam Nasir Ahmad El rufai will send parents to Jail who fail to send their children to school, hence Government has criminalised failure to attend school by pupils”

Also speaking, the Managing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Jordi Borut Bel, represented by the Brewery Manager, Mr. Abbey Ajayi, said ” We are handing over five (5) newly renovated classrooms and six (6) toilets for the LGEA Primary and Secondary School.

This project is undertaken through the Nigerian Breweries – Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund. It is one of the many interventions executed in line with our philosophy of “Winning with Nigeria”, and a demonstration of our unwavering commitment to the developmental aspirations of the people of Kaduna State.”

“This project adds to several other school projects that our company had embarked upon over the last ten years across the North for the benefit of our immediate host communities and other locations where we do business. ”

“Our projects are done in diligent pursuit of our Corporate Social Responsibility goal – Winning With Nigeria: by being a responsive and distinguished corporate citizen of the States where we do business.

“As one of our foremost business locations, Kaduna state has been a key beneficiary of our education intervention initiatives. Schools which have benefitted from similar projects in Kaduna include Government Girls Secondary School Makera, LEA Primary School, Makera, Government Day Secondary School Kakuri, LEA Samaru Rd. Makera Primary School. Others are LEA Artillery I & II Primary School, LEA Down Quarter Primary School, LGEA Model Nursery and Primary School, Kawo etc.”
