Chairman Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya has applauded the proactive measures taken by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State in arresting the long Security challenges bedeviling the State.
Senator Gaya said the entire Senators are happy with the current development in Zamfara State which has brought peace to the people in the Northwest and commended the Governor for the feat attained within the short period of time in his administration.
Gaya made the commendation on Monday when he received Governor Matawalle at his office at the National Assembly Complex.Abuja .
The Senator said the National Assembly has been receiving very positive news from Zamfara State over the current leadership efforts in addressing the Security challenges which led to the stoppage of kidnapping, cattle rustling and banditry in the State and reduced it drastically in the region.
He promised to move a motion for the need to create Northwest Development Commission that will provide some relief to the affected communities in the State.
He also promised the support of the members of the Red Chamber of the National Assembly to the Governor in his efforts of addressing the Security challenges facing the state.
Gaya added that provision of Security to the lives and properties is paramount in every responsible Government and Senate will be proud to associate itself with such Governor irrespective of his political affiliation.
He urged the Governor to maintain continues along this line in the position that he has started which a lot of people are happy
