NURHI Congratulates FHANI For Laying Solid, Sustainable Foundation

Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative, NURHI has lauded the activities of FHANI, Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative for bringing the issue of Child Birth Spacing to the front burner in Kaduna State.
NURHI’s Senior Technical Advisor , Charity Ibeanudu gave the commendation in Kaduna on Tuesday at a meeting with members of FHANI .
She said it was gratifying to note that from the workings of FHANI, the vision of NURHI which had been supportive to the group, has been established in Kaduna.
“We commend FHANI for whose activities have been globally known.You have led the pace , your activities and operations have not only gone stronger but global”, she remarks.
Ibeanudu added  that from the briefing and what she had seen , FHANI was highly recognized and influencial in Kaduna State.
She promised to avail other groups to make advocacy trips to learn from FHANI.
The Technical Advisor ,however urged FHANI to expand its scope by embedding youth into its fold along with NURHI’s  Life Planning , and Adolescent and Youths , LPAY program.
Such integration, she said, would serve as value added.
The Technical Advisor announced that NURHI was still much on ground in Kaduna, Lagos and Oyo saying ” what we are doing is transition. Is like mentor and coach so that the model we built into the system could be sustained “
FHANI Chairman and the Secretary, Alhaji Bala Tijjani and Iliya Kure acknowledged the strong partnership between the two groups .
They disclosed that FHANI has been holding several advocacy meetings with members of the State House of Assembly and other stakeholders in the State which had been yielding fruitful results.
Presently , they said , FHANI was tracking the 2020 budget which was about to be sent to the State House of Assembly with a view to asking for increase in the FP allocation.
It has also been drafting the budget with FP unit and following up at the Budget Commission among other advocacies.
On the Life Planning, Adolescents and Youth program, LPAY, they told the Advisor that  FHANI’s doors were open as stipulated in its  constitution.
